The Healthcare industry has undergone significant changes over the past decade, driven by rapid advancements in medical knowledge, rising drug costs, and the changing role of the practitioners. As a result, the role of the healthcare organization is shifting from provider of physical infrastructure to manager of the care process.
New approaches to designing and managing care are needed to meet these changes. Care processes need to be developed to address both standardized and custom therapies, internal systems need to be aligned to maximize efficiency and improve quality, and organizational learning needs to be captured to drive continual improvement. Despite general acknowledgment of these trends, the care delivery processes and internal operating structures of many healthcare delivery organizations have not yet adapted to address these new challenges and exploit emerging opportunities.
Keystone has work with a range of health care organizations to design care delivery processes and develop governance structures for healthcare delivery organizations. In addition, our teams have been involved in analysis of hospital organizational structures, mergers and joint ventures, physician networks, and analysis of health care insurance.
